Do you know the answer?

Everybody has had this happen to them at one time or another. You are sitting in class at school, the teacher asks everyone a question and BAM you know the answer. Your hand shoots up in the air and you just hope that the teacher calls on you so that you can tell them the answer. You get so excited and your heart starts to race. You want to be the one to answer the question especially if not many others hands were raised. That means you have an edge on the rest of your classmates.

The same goes for the lost people. When somebody asks you a question about your faith or God or anything that has to do with the Gospel your hand should go straight up and say I have the answer you are searching for. Do you have any idea where to look in the bible for what is required to receive salvation? If somebody were dying and you were the only one that could lead them in a pray to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior could you do it?

Sadly many “Christians” today do not know this. I recently talked to a girl at a resturant. She was there with her boyfriend. I asked them if they were to die tonight would they know where they would go. She was very excited to tell me “Heaven of course” I said “Great, how do you know?” She said because her father was the praise and worship leader at their church. Well this is not the right answer. Nobody is grafted into Jesus because somebody else in their family does something for a church. Romans 10:9 tells us “If you confess with your mouth, Jesus Christ as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, then you will be saved.” The sinners prayer doesn’t stop there however. There must be a heart that is repented of sin. God doesn’t only see the outside but He sees the inside as well. He knows you better than you do. If you say that prayer and go on sinning the same way you were and don’t change then you are no better off now than you were then.

As my wife and I street witness I encourage people to contact me that make a decision to follow Jesus so that I can help them understand the decision that they have made and help them grow into disciples. You know out of the thousands of tracts that I have handed out not one person has ever emailed me. Not one! If you are out there and said the sinners prayer and have not changed your ways then I encourage you to get into the Bible and read it daily. Learn what God’s plan for your life is. It will always be greater than you could ever imagine. Repent of the sins and do them no longer. Change your ways and change your heart. If you lose friends in the process then they were never really your friends to begin with. Get involved in a local church and do everything you can to make it every week the doors are open.

That is it for this post.

ETERNITY IS A LONG TIME TO HAVE THE WRONG ANSWER.
