Have you ever been given a compliment when you did something right? It feels really good. That is what Jesus was saying to the people in Philadelphia. The church had stayed true to Him, even when they were tempted to compromise, as some of the others. Jesus gave them special blessings to expect when they held onto their faith until the end.
